Cheesy Ham Chowder recipes

1 cup diced ham 1/2 cup diced onion 1/2 cup diced celery 1/2 cup diced carrots 3 cups potatoes, peeled and diced 3 cups chicken broth 1/4 cup unsalted butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Melt the butter over medium-low heat in a large pot. When you add the diced ham, cook it until it starts to turn brown.

Chop up the onion, celery, and carrots and add them to the pot. Let the veggies cook until they get soft.

Place the flour on top of the ham and veggie mix. Carefully mix everything in the flour.

Slowly pour in the chicken broth while stirring all the time to avoid clumps. Bring the stuff together to a simmer.

After you add the diced potatoes, keep the pot on low heat until the potatoes are soft.

Then add the milk and mix it in well. For another 5 to 10 minutes, let the soup simmer.

Cut the heat down to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese slowly, stirring it in until it melts and the soup is smooth.
