2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
3/4 cup (165g) packed light or dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
12 oz (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Warm the oven up to 190°C (375°F). Place baking mats or parchment paper on two baking sheets.
Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl.
The butter and sugar should be creamed together in a large bowl. This should take about two minutes. Add vanilla and eggs and beat until well mixed.
Slowly add the dry ingredients and mix them in until they are just combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix them in.
Round out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each one.
Put them in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the middle is still soft.
It should cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before being moved to a wire rack to cool all the way.
